About Me
My name is Hector.
I am a graphic designer living in Dallas, TX with my wife and cat. I am currently an in-house generalist designer for a national health system. Which means my day varies from laying out a booklet, to doing a headshot or doing a full-on video production. I’m fortunate to be versatile and well-rounded in my work. It’s been decades in the making.
My first job was as a caricature artist at Fiesta Texas (now Six Flags) in San Antonio. That was so much fun! From there, I went to business school and joined the school newspaper as the graphic artist. It was there where I learned how to turn my sketches into a digital illustration. I used to think I was pretty good until I started working with “real” designers. They really opened my eyes to the world of design and helped me grow in my skillset and capabilities. I would then later go on and earn my Masters degree in Graphic Design and Digital Media.
These days, I am teaching college kids the basics of design and the Adobe Creative suite one semester at a time. I thoroughly enjoy sharing knowledge and best practices with anyone that will listen. I still continue to grow my skillset and general design knowledge because I know there is still so much to see, learn, and share!
